Youth Engagement

FSC Branch SLS offer a variety of programs during the season that targets our youth members.

Wambiri Youth Development and Leadership Camp

Wambiri is our Branch Youth Leadership Program which provides opportunities for U13 & 14 members to advance their development and participation in surf lifesaving. Programs offer members the opportunity to network and build their self-esteem and confidence in a supportive and safe environment. This program was first held in 1996 and continues to be a favourite with our members.

Junior Lifesaver of the Year

The Junior Lifesaver of the Year Program is an excellent way for our Branch to recognise the U14 members achievements in Surf Life Saving, their contributions to the all levels of Surf Life Saving and their communities.
Our selection panel met with candidates from across the Branch on the weekend and were met with some tough decisions to award two of our members as Branch Finalists.
We are proud to present our Far South Coast Junior Lifesavers, each nominated and endorsed by their Clubs; (in alphabetical order)
• Cosmo O’Leary – Tathra
• Eliza Dinwoodie – Pambula
• Joel Constable – Narooma
• Luke Drewsen – Broulee Surfers
• Maxim Savchenko-Ray – Bermagui
• Michaela Fitzpatrick – Moruya
• Noah Eagles – Moruya
• Rosie McPartland – Broulee Surfers
Congratulations goes to our Branch Finalists, both from Broulee Surfers SLSC, Rosie McPartland and Luke Drewsen. Our finalists will progress to the SLSNSW development camp and interview process to determine the State winners. We wish them both a wonderful experience at the camp where they will have a lot of fun, receive personal development opportunities and meet other young surf lifesavers from across New South Wales.

Power Craft Awareness introduces our youth members to the variety of power craft used in SLS, IRBs, RWCs and UAVs.

These weekends are designed for our members U18.  Members gain confidence in the use of equipment in a safe, supervised and controlled environment.
